Glazing and satin finishing by roller and by hand

The enameling of glass surfaces consists in applying, spraying or with special rollers, a paint on a surface of the glass plate destined to become a part of a piece of furniture (eg tables, doors). This specific processing can be done cold or hot: in the hot case there is a vitrification of the paint following the permanence of it in an oven, usually by the process of tempering. These painting techniques give glass a particular glossy or satin color effect and allow the creation of artistic glass windows for interior architecture and constructions.

Mold screen printing

Screen printing is a process widely used in various fields to decorate surfaces with designs, writings, etc. for artistic or functional purposes. With suitable photographic reproduction techniques, a frame called silk-screen is made, which shows the pattern the gets reproduced on the glass plate. Screen printing can also be performed on curved glass surfaces thanks to the use of special inks and paints. The operation generally concludes with the hardening which makes the enamel vitrify.

Lamination

By laminated glass we mean the union of two or more glass plates obtained by interposing one or more sheets of a special plastic material, under the combined action of heat and pressure. This process allows the creation of safety glass which doesn’t break if hit. For this reason, laminated glass is used for the construction of windscreens, plain glass walls, shop windows and showcases.

Sandblasting

Glass sandblasting is a technique that consists in projecting abrasive sand onto a glass plate using a jet of compressed air. The sheet, first transparent, becomes opalescent following the treatment. This intervention can be carried out ‘in zones’ with pleasant decorative results. Sandblasted glass is very useful for eliminating the transparency of interior glass but allowing light to pass through anyway.

Front and back acid etching

The glass acid etching technique allows to obtain decorative effects of total or partial opacification of the plate, more or less deep, through the use of hydrofluoric acid, the only agent capable of affecting glass surfaces. The etched glass has an opaque effect that is pleasant to the touch similar to silk, and finds application in furnishing elements such as interior doors, sliding panels, doors for wardrobes, windows, lighting and much more.
